Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes. The audio extractor is completely free, with no signup, watermarks, or limits. We make money from our video translation service, not from this tool.

Do you upload my files?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly. Your file never leaves your device — you can even disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded.

What video formats are supported?

Most common formats: MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI, and more. If your video plays on your computer, it will almost certainly work here.

Which output format should I pick?

MP3 (192 kbps) plays everywhere and is the safe default. M4A/AAC gives slightly better quality at the same size. WAV is uncompressed — pick it for editing, but expect much larger files.
